MTECH WATER AND ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING
The programme has a duration of two (2) years involving taught courses and problem-based research work.The M.Tech programmeprovides highly skilled BTech and other undergraduates the specialized knowledge and skills to do research and take up high-level positions in the water and environment industry. It furtherstrengthensthecompetenciesof professionals in industries for socio-economic and manpower development of Ghana and the world at large.
The key objectives of the MTech in Water and Environmental Engineering are underpinned by the inevitable need to:
- Train undergraduates in a practical manner based on the CBT concept to become experts in the water and environmental engineering field and empower them to tackle today’s and future engineering challenges in the sector;
- Provide a logical progression route, rather than the orthodox, for BTech and similar graduates; and
- Further strengthen the competencies of the CBT graduates to propel the manpower development needs of Ghana and the developing world.
Entry Requirements
To be admitted into the MTech in Water and Environmental Engineering, applicants must:
- Hold a BTech degree in either Civil or Chemical Engineering; or
- Hold a BSc degree in Civil or Chemical Engineering; or
- Hold first degree in a relevant engineering-related discipline; and
- Additionally, have at least two (2) years industrial or work experience; and
- Must attend and pass a selection interview if degree is a second class lower or pass division
- Hold HND in either Civil or Chemical Engineering with three (3) years industrial experience, must pass a selection interview, and do six (6) months top-up requisite bridging-course before admission into the MTech Programme.
